Vishu Ramanathan is CEO of Buildout, the leading end-to-end marketing software for commercial real estate. He founded the company in 2010 with fellow software developer Jason Tillery. His background is in software development where he specializes in bridging complex business problems with people and technology to form a solution. Before founding Buildout, Vishu spent 10 years with Business Logic, now Next Capital, and also worked as an independent software developer in industries with sophisticated problems, including finance, logistics and trade regulation.
Clara is co-founder and Managing Partner of the Urban Innovation Fund, a venture capital firm that invests in the future of cities. The fund provides seed capital and regulatory support to entrepreneurs solving our toughest urban challenges – helping them grow into tomorrow’s most valued companies.
Previously, she co-founded Tumml, a startup hub for urban tech. The organization has provided 38 startups with seed funding and mentorship, and hosts thought leadership events around urban innovation. In 2014, Forbes listed her as one of its “30 Under 30” for Social Entrepreneurship. Clara’s work energizing urban entrepreneurship has been featured in numerous press outlets, including MSNBC and TechCrunch, among others. She serves on the Board of Tumml, as well as the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Bay Area Local Advisory Committee. Clara earned her MBA from MIT Sloan and BA from NYU.
Michael DeGiorgio is the founder and CEO of CREXi, a venture backed online marketplace with approximately $500B in CRE assets for sale or lease. Prior to founding CREXi, Michael was an early employee and helped establish Auction.com Commercial (now Ten-X). During his 5-year tenure at Auction, Michael was a standout leader managing several teams and continually ranked as one of the top sales producers among the entire company. Among his many contributions, Michael played a key role in creating many positions at Auction.com before eventually leaving to form CREXi in 2015. Michael earned his B.A. in Marketing from Northern Illinois University where he is now an Executive in Residence for the entrepreneurship program.
Brian Bailey is a Subject Matter Expert in the Supervision, Regulation, & Credit Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is responsible for providing thought leadership and monitoring emerging trends in commercial real estate. He provides guidance on CRE industry dynamics, valuation, operation and finance issues. Brian has been actively involved as a lead Wholesale reviewer in the annual stress test and capital review (CCAR & HCR) conducted on the nation’s largest financial institutions and is responsible for writing the Atlanta Fed’s Commercial Real Estate portion of the Beige Book. Brian has been requested to share his thoughts on commercial real estate at hundreds of venues including the Federal Reserve System, multiple U.S. Federal Agencies, many universities such as the Wharton School, industry conferences, and syndicated radio. Brian has extensive experience, spanning both the public and private sectors, with commercial real estate valuation, transaction, development, and financial issues. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Brian was employed by the private equity firm Tavistock Group to oversee real estate finance and acquisitions. He was responsible for valuation, directing due diligence and financial modeling operations, which included assessing and identifying the most financially feasible development scenarios. Some of the projects included a 7,000 acre development with over 12 million square feet of entitlements, a 200 acre development containing in excess of 4.5 million square feet of entitlements and a large development with over 8,000 residential and commercial parcels and lots.
Before joining Tavistock, Brian was the Director of Real Estate Finance for Flagler Development Group, Florida’s largest commercial real estate developer. At Flagler, he was responsible for the Company’s valuation and financial analysis functions, as well as providing guidance on various financial issues related to development, leasing and valuation. Brian provided real estate and financial investment advice to the company’s senior management and investment committee. Brian’s experience includes working for EY (Ernst & Young), where he was an executive. Brian managed multiple engagements for both private and public sector clients. His advisory experience includes asset acquisition/disposition, transaction due diligence, valuation, feasibility and market studies, loan due diligence, reviewing leases and cash flow modeling. Prior to joining E&Y, Brian founded and operated an industrial development company that specialized in the acquisition, development, and refurbishment of industrial and office properties. Prior to that, Brian got his start in commercial real estate as a local market appraiser.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mercer University, Brian earned an MBA degree with concentrations in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Florida. He also attained the CCIM & CRE designations.

Mike Lipsey has often been published in Corporate Real Estate Executive, SIOR’s Professional Report and NAIOP’s Development. He is also a very popular and much sought-after Keynote Speaker at industry and association banquets, conventions and national meetings, and has appeared on several Commercial Real Estate radio shows.
DR. MARK DOTZOUR
Dr. Mark G. Dotzour is a real estate economist who served for 18 years as Chief Economist of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University in College Station. He has given more than 1,450 presentations to more than 250,000 people and has written over 90 articles for magazines and journals. His research findings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Money Magazine and Business Week.
His clients include banks, private equity firms, real estate investments trusts, construction firms, engineering companies, wealth managers, private foundations, and commercial and residential brokerage firms. He has also made presentations to local and national trade associations all over America. He makes complex economic issues easily understandable.
Mark’s goal is to provide his audience with a “tool kit” of useful information that will help them make good business decisions for their families, their clients and their company. In 2015, Dotzour stepped down from his position at the Real Estate Center to focus all of his time and effort on analyzing current economic conditions and communicating his analysis to others. He combines academic training in economics, real estate, finance and history to make sense of current economic trends.
After earning his PhD in finance and real estate from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987, Dotzour was a tenured professor of real estate and finance at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas for 10 years. Prior to his academic career, he was President of Gleneagles Development, Inc., which was a residential land development firm in Wichita. During this time, he also served as President of Dotzour Inc., Realtors, which was a residential brokerage firm in Wichita. Mark and his wife LuAnn have been married for over 40 years, and have two children and two grandchildren. His father was a professional golfer. He and LuAnn spend a lot of time on the road, and they enjoy playing golf, exploring antique stores and old book stores.
Diane Danielson serves as the company’s Chief Operating Officer overseeing operations and brand development. Diane is a former attorney, accomplished speaker, published author, and widely recognized social media expert. Formerly VP of business development for corporate services and strategy at Spaulding & Slye/Colliers (now Jones Lang LaSalle) and before that, head of marketing for Meredith & Grew/ONCOR (now Colliers International Boston), Diane went on to publish two books and found the award-winning Downtown Women’s Club national network. In 2006, she launched the first social network for businesswomen in the U.S. Over the past decade, Diane has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, and other noteworthy publications; has been a regular contributor to the Boston Globe and Entrepreneur.com; and has been a speaker on leadership, networking, and social media at companies like Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, and EMC, as well as for organizations like NEHRA (New England Human Resources Association), NAIOP, IFMA, and SMPS. In 2013, Diane was honored as one of 40 over 40 Women to Watch in Forbes.com. In 2014 she was selected by Bisnow as one of their 50 Power Women in Boston Commercial Real Estate; and in 2015 Real Estate Forum named her a 2015 Woman of Influence.
Solomon Poretsky is the Chief Development Officer for SVN. Prior to joining SVN, he was a partner at Custom Skills Development, a commercial real estate consulting firm that provided coaching, development, and training services to agents and commercial real estate brokerages across North America. His commercial real estate career started at Marcus & Millichap, where he was involved in over $1.2 billion of listings sales and closings as both an agent and a regional manager. He also achieved that firm’s prestigious National Faculty Member designation.
Solomon also worked on the instructional design of one of the world’s first online master’s degree programs. He graduated cum laude from Columbia University in the City of New York with a bachelor’s degree and earned and a second BA, with honors, from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He currently resides in suburban Minneapolis with his wife, Mary and his twin boys, Thomas and William.
